Our curriculum

Our Islamic Studies curriculum follows the Steps to Perfection series published by Kisa Kids. Across six books, children build their knowledge year by year, developing a strong foundation in Islam and a deeper connection with the teachings of the Qur’an, Prophet Muhammad (s) and the Ahlul Bayt (as).

The curriculum combines structured learning with stories, discussion and activities, helping children not only understand their faith, but also apply its teachings in their everyday lives.

ʿAqāʾid

Children learn the fundamental beliefs of Islam, including the Uṣūl ad-Dīn, building their understanding of Allah (swt), Divine justice, Prophethood, Imamate and the Day of Judgement. These concepts are revisited and explored in greater depth as children progress through the curriculum.

Fiqh

Children learn the practical teachings of Islam and the Furūʿ ad-Dīn, including subjects such as prayer, fasting, purification and other aspects of everyday Islamic practice. Lessons are designed to help children understand not only what we do as Muslims, but why we do it.

History

Through the lives and stories of the Prophets, Prophet Muhammad (s) and the Ahlul Bayt (as), children learn about the personalities and events that have shaped our faith. Particular emphasis is placed on helping children develop a genuine love and connection with the Ma’sumeen (as), while learning from their character, choices and teachings.

Akhlāq

Good character is an essential part of Islamic education. Children explore qualities such as honesty, kindness, patience, gratitude, respect and responsibility through Qur’anic verses, ahadith, stories and practical examples.

Our aim is for these lessons to extend beyond the classroom, helping children develop the knowledge, character and confidence to live their faith in their everyday lives.

Qurʾan Appreciation

Alongside the Steps to Perfection curriculum, we also read the Kisa Kids’ Qurʾan Appreciation series of books. The goal behind this series is to promote appreciation, love, understanding, and practical usage of the Qur’an in the lives of our children.
